Onslow Square, South Kensington
Respecting what exists, while making room for something new.
Within a Grade II listed Early Victorian building, this top-floor residence required a careful balance between substantial intervention and respect for its historic fabric.
New roof-level structural steelwork enabled the introduction of a fully bespoke kitchen, while the living spaces and bedrooms were completely renewed. Enhanced acoustic insulation, bespoke internal doors and a new guest WC were introduced alongside a collection of carefully considered interior details.
Original furniture was retained and complemented by bespoke a travertine fireplace, with specialist art handling incorporated into the process.
The finished residence brings contemporary comfort, original character and carefully crafted interventions into quiet balance.
